I often get takeout from here with my family and always enjoy it! Really solid, consistently delicious, well-made sushi
I'm a bit of a sushi snob coming from NYC where there are many excellent authentic Japanese cuisine establishments. I often get turned off when I go to Japanese restaurants, and I hear Chinese being spoken from the staff. There was even a sushi restaurant in Ridgewood, NJ, that went as far as to play Chinese music. I thought "what desecration"! Then, when the food isn't well prepared and not representative of the Japanese, it's such a disservice and embarrassment to both cultures. Well, Sushi Ya is run by Chinese staff. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the sashimi. It was fresh, tasty, and melted in my mouth. The presentation is decent. It would have been better if the wasabi was freshly grated and not the prepackaged concentrated kind. The accompanying salad and miso soup were simple and basic. I haven't tried the sushi with the rice nor the cooked foods. Either way, I applaud them for doing justice to the cuisine, at least with the freshness. Yes, I would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.
Always fresh and delicious. Best sushi we've had in this area since moving here 4 years ago. Fully recommend
First time going here and the sushi was amazing! Pan fried dumpling were delicious!
Truly one of best sushi restaurants you can go too. The food is always amazing the staff is so friendly and it a really peaceful atmosphere. I go here twice a week because it's just a place I can relax at. My food came out in 2 MINUTES!! They are so quick and so amazing. I was sitting at the bar and they gave me a complimentary little sushi salad. It was so cute and small and very appreciated. If you are looking for a good sushi place PLEASE COME HERE! It's a very good place to go if your visiting for vacation and your craving sushi!
Came out here for dinner tonight with my wife, surprisingly best sushi I have had in Sussex/Morris so far. Food: we ordered smoked salmon sushi and spring rolls for appetizer which was really good! The red rose, king, and out of control rolls that we ordered were so good and flavorful, plus accentuated by their sauce pairings or distinct taste by the choice of fish. Service: the young ladies helping us were very nice and constantly checked in if we needed anything. Aesthetic: standard sushi restaurant, has about 10-12 tables.
Classic sushi place with a sushi bar and few tables. Theirs is some of the best sushi in the area and I regularly order take out from there. They are comparably priced to other sushi restaurants and their portions are generous. Definitely recommend since we eat or order from there once a month.
Visiting NJ & craving some sushi. This place turned out to be great for our lunch. The staffs were helpful. Servers were attentive helping us . The food were tasty.
